Otherwise, many familiar words make up the list this month. Spikes of interest for hoax following the "balloon boy" episode and humble after President Obama's reaction to the Nobel Prize weren't enough to put those words on the list. In the early days of the month, extortion and philanderer were frequently looked up in the wake of the revelation by David Letterman that an attempt had been made to blackmail him concerning details of his relationships with members of his staff over the years.
