Report from the Open Dictionary

April's word watchers showered the Open Dictionary with new words. Only time will tell if last month's offerings will flower in the lexicon, but these words already show evidence of use, which is the first step to becoming a part of the language.

mancession (noun) : a recession that affects men more than women

power cycle (verb) : to turn off and then turn on an electronic device (as a computer or cell phone) usu. to reset or update settings

retrosexual (noun) : one who favors old-fashioned manners for dating

stabby (adjective) : inclined to stab: angry or frustrated
